The team at Lorna Syson is growing even bigger! This is Alex,  she started with us recently in March 2014 and here’s what she gets up to around the studio!

1. What is your daily life in the Lorna Syson Studio?

I am in the studio on Mondays and whenever extra help is needed around the studio, at shows and photoshoots. My main job is taking care of all the orders and stock that come in and out of the studio; I gift wrap, pack and despatch all of the products.

I then move onto helping with any updates that need to be made to the blog and products on the website. Each day varies as there is always something new happening! I also teach new interns about the packing and stock process.

2. What’s the best thing about your job?

The best thing is that everyday is different as there are so many different jobs or events that are happening. The atmosphere in the studio is really fun too so I always look forward to my day in. It also helps that Lorna’s dog, Jenkins #‎happyhavanese, is in everyday for extra company!

3. What’s your favourite product?

I love the Warwick cushion because the pattern is so bold, I think they would look great in any room of the house. I also really love the Flock Sunrise design as the yellow colour is so bright and cheerful!

4. What’s life like when not in the Lorna Syson Studio?

I am a student  in my third year studying Surface Design at University of the Arts London. I love all things design based, especially anything illustrated or screen printed. You’re most likely to find me screen printing in the print rooms or drawing in places like The Natural History Museum and Horniman Museum.

5. When you grew up what did you want to be?

I went through different phases but the main two were a vet or a fashion designer but I know for sure that I now want to be a surface print designer!

6. What’s your favourite interior trend at the moment?

As much as I love colour, I really like the modern monochrome look that’s really popular for workspaces or kitchen areas. I particularly like a lot of Marimekko‘s black and white designs to create this look.

7. What is your favourite blog?

My favourite blog has to be the Lorna Syson Journal! It’s always being updated and I love seeing what Lorna has been up to or what blogs and products we are all loving.

8. What is the last thing you bought?

It was an Octopus ring holder from Anthropologie. I bought it as I thought it was was a unique little trinket and it fits into the current monochrome trend.
