In 2014, Neil (my husband) and I spent our honeymoon at Dandelion Hideaway, staying in the beautiful Bluebells accommodation. The night before our wedding, I stayed there with my bridesmaids, soaking in the peaceful surroundings as we prepared for the big day. After our wedding, we returned for a week, making the most of the stunning countryside.

Tucked away behind our hut was an ancient bluebell wood—a truly magical place. Naturally, I couldn’t resist bringing my sketchbook to capture the soft dappled light and the delicate blue flowers swaying in the breeze.

Creating Bluebell Design

Fast-forward to our fifth anniversary in 2019, and we find ourselves back at Dandelion Hideaway, retracing those special memories. It was during this visit that the Bluebell design was born. I revisited my original sketches from 2014, blending them with fresh illustrations to create a design that truly captures the essence of those enchanting woodlands.

In 2024, for our 10th anniversary, we returned once again—this time with our daughter. We stayed in a different hut, but the magic remained the same. Walking through the bluebell woods together felt even more special, sharing this cherished place with the next generation.

Bespoke Waistcoats

A huge thank you to Claire for sharing her daughter’s beautiful wedding photos! This stunning celebration in Santorini was filled with thoughtful details, and it’s such an honor to know that the fathers of the bride and groom chose my Bluebell fabric for their bespoke waistcoats. It feels especially fitting as the Bluebell design was originally inspired by sketches from my own wedding venue, making it even more meaningful to see it woven into another couple’s special day. The delicate color palette of the wedding perfectly complemented the soft, romantic tones of the fabric—such a beautiful touch for a truly unforgettable occasion!

The Bluebell design now adorns wallpaper, fabric, cushions, lampshades, and greeting cards, bringing a touch of that woodland serenity into homes.

Looking back, we’ve been incredibly lucky to have sunshine on each of our visits, allowing us to fully enjoy the golden light filtering through the trees, casting a glow over the sea of tiny blue flowers.
