Lorna Syson’s range of wrapping paper has grown over the last few years. Greetings cards and gift wrap is where Lorna explores not only her love of British wildlife, but also her love of animals and particularly pets.
Lorna has two pet dogs called Jenkins and Marlo. Jenkins was born in Hungary and came to live with Lorna when he was 7 months old. Marlo is an ex Spanish street dog, he is completely blind, having to have his eyes removed in 2021 and came to live with Lorna in 2020 when he was around 10 years old. Lorna’s dogs mean everything to her and she knows how important pets are to people and how much joy they bring. Lorna tries to reflect this in all her designs. The stationery collections are full of fun and colour. Her animal and pet designs are great for adults and children. Let’s look at Lorna’s animal gift wraps in more detail! First up Guinea Pigs. Lorna has an obsession with Guinea pigs after owning 6 when she was a child!

Dog Wrapping Paper
Next inspired by Jenkins and Marlo we’re sharing Lorna Dog animal wrap. The birthday dog wrapping paper is such a popular dog gift wrap and is covered in all our most fun loving pets that guarantee a smile from the birthday girl or boy. Match up with one of our pet cards for extra fun! This wrapping paper features a standard poodle, a shih tzu, a whippet, a boarder collie, a cavalier king Charles spaniel and a pug!
Our second dog wrap is one of Lorna’s orginal animal wrapping paper designs but is still a firm favourite! Featuring a pug, miniature schnauzer, a bichon frise and a miniature dachshund also known as a sausage dog.
Cat Wrapping Paper
Cat wrapping paper is a firm favourite with cat lovers, and matches so well with many of the cat greeting cards in Lorna’s collection. Lorna also has a cat with flower crown wrapping paper which is a gorgeous cat called Betty looking stunning in her festival ready flower crown. She’s a Siamese and was one of Lorna’s first per portraits.
The second cat wrapping paper shows so many different breads of cats including Persian cat, Maine Coon cat, British Shorthair Cat, Bengal Cat, Siamese Cat and a Ragdoll Cat.

All of Lorna’s gift wrap is printed in the UK on high quality paper from an FSC-certified supplier. This means the paper has been harvested in a responsible manner as Lorna is dedicated to creating sustainable wrapping paper.
Sustainability is a top priority for Lorna. Lorna’s high quality wrapping paper is recyclable and plastic free. Lorna also sends out orders for her quality gift wrap and greetings cards plastic free where possible.
What is FSC?
FSC stands for Forest Stewardship Council, which is an international non-profit organisation founded in 1993 with a mission to create responsible forestry. It is the only forest verification scheme endorsed by leading environmental charities like WWF, the Woodland Trust and Greenpeace.

Is my wrapping paper recyclable?
Yes, we only produce recyclable wrapping paper, but it’s understandably a confusing subject! In the UK, we use 227,000 miles of wrapping paper every single year, which averages out to about four rolls of wrapping per household. Some papers are coated in fine plastic, foiled or glittered but when it comes to be eco-friendly it’s a huge no no! Coating wrapping paper takes a paper product to something which ends up in landfill, so avoid papers that are too shiny
The easiest way to tell if your paper can be recycled is to do the scrunch test! Scrunch up the paper and if it stays scrunched then it can be recycled. Avoid wrapping paper that is very thin (such a cheap wrapping paper that tears easily and feels thin) as this contains very few good quality fibres and therefore cannot be recycled. The thicker the paper, the better, so we’ve got you covered, all of our papers are all printed on good quality paper from an FSC-certified supplier meaning they can go back into the paper system and be reused
Also please note before it goes into recycling, please remove any plastic sticky tape, better yet, use plastic free tapes, there are some fantastic biodegradable brown paper tapes, there are also some lovely patterned paper tapes too but sellotape has bought out a plant based see through tape too!
When you place an order on the website we fold up the wrapping paper and send this out in plastic packaging using brown paper tape when needed
Bird watching wrapping paper has got all of Lorna’s favourites including flamingos, budgies and puffins. A firm choice for any bird lovers or bird watchers out there!
Penguins are another popular bird and are great for gift wrap as they are so versatile. Lorna’s Baby Penguin wrap is perfect for new baby gifts, christenings and Christmas. The illustrated baby king penguin is so cute! Alternatively Lorna has another penguin gift wrap featuring a pair of adult king penguins, Peter and Paul. Great for wedding gifts as penguins mate for life!
We can’t talk about bird wrap without mentioning the robin wrapping paper. The Robin is a firm favourite all year round and is the UK’s national bird. A regular visitor to Lorna’s childhood garden, the Robin is a familiar and endearing bird. This bird wrapping paper is great for Christmas and birthdays.
Finally we have to mention to RSPB collaboration. The RSPB collection is not only beautiful, it also supports the wonderful RSPB charity, with 10% of all sales going directly to support the wonderful work the charity does. So far Lorna Syson has donated over £4000 to the charity and counting.
The Hummingbird Design represents the wonderful work the RSPB does outside of the UK. Birds do not have boundaries, and it’s important for the charity to look outside of UK boarders to support other organisations in preserving natural habitats. Where as the Blossom and Bird design showing British long tailed tits represent the wonderful work the RSPB do in the UK at their centres across the country.
Christmas Animal Wrapping Paper
Wrapping paper is essential at Christmas time so of course Lorna has created Christmas versions of some of her most popular animal gift wrap designs. The Woodland animal wrapping paper features lots of British wild animals that you will find in the local countryside including deers, badgers, foxes and hedgehogs.
The Go Wild Christmas wrap has racoons, tigers, giraffes, penguins, elephants and pandas all ready for Christmas antics in the snow with their antlers. Lorna also has Flo the Frenchie Christmas pud wrap, Flo the French bulldog Christmas pudding wrap is a very cute and popular choice for Christmas. This gift wrap is also part of Lorna’s charity range for Hearing dogs for the Deaf. 10% of the sales from these designs go directly to the charity to help with the wonderful work they do!
