Looking for Christmas markets in Oxfordshire in 2026? This festive season, I’ll be taking Lorna Syson to some lovely Christmas markets across South Oxfordshire, including Brightwell-cum-Sotwell, Dorchester-on-Thames and Watlington. I’ll also be joining the Joy of Indie online Christmas market, so you can shop small wherever you are in the UK.

Christmas is one of my favourite times of the year for meeting customers, catching up with familiar faces and introducing new people to my nature-inspired designs.

Red Lion Christmas Market – Brightwell-cum-Sotwell, 14th November 2026

My first Christmas market of the season is particularly close to home!

I’ll be at the Red Lion Christmas Market in Brightwell-cum-Sotwell, a beautiful South Oxfordshire village near Wallingford and Didcot. This is the 3rd year the pub is running the market, and I’ve been a supporter of this event since day one! The pub is also changing hands this November, so it will be a great way to meet the new landlord!

Being based in South Oxfordshire myself, I love having the opportunity to take part in local events and meet people from the surrounding villages. If the thought of a great market isn’t enough, this pub does really good food and drinks, and is beautiful, a real example of a traditional country pub.

If you’re looking for a Christmas market near Wallingford or Didcot, this is a lovely opportunity to start your festive shopping while supporting independent businesses.

Can’t make it to one of my Oxfordshire Christmas markets? Don’t worry!

I’ll also be taking part in the Joy of Indie Christmas Market, an online shopping event celebrating independent businesses and creative brands.

It’s a brilliant way to discover something a little different from the usual high street offerings, all from the comfort of your sofa.

As an independent British designer, I’m passionate about encouraging people to shop small. Choosing to buy from an independent business makes a real difference, particularly during the busy Christmas season.

Dorchester Abbey Christmas Market – 28th November 2026

Next up is the Christmas Market at Dorchester Abbey, in the historic village of Dorchester-on-Thames.

Dorchester is a beautiful South Oxfordshire village, close to Wallingford, Abingdon and Oxford, and the abbey makes a wonderful setting for a festive event.

I’ll be bringing along a selection of my nature-inspired products, including designs featuring British birds, woodland animals and flowers.

Watlington Christmas Market – 5th December 2026

My final Christmas market of 2026 will be in the lovely market town of Watlington, South Oxfordshire.

Watlington is full of character, with independent shops and a beautiful High Street. It’s a lovely place to enjoy a little festive shopping.

If you live near Henley-on-Thames, Thame, Benson or Wallingford, Watlington is another South Oxfordshire Christmas market worth adding to your diary.

I’ll be there with my collection of illustrated gifts, greeting cards and wrapping paper, ready to help with those final Christmas presents.

British Wildlife and Animal Greeting Cards

I go big for Christmas, but with feedback from previous years, this year I’m planning on taking some more everyday cards! People are also born in Decemeber too!

My illustrated greeting cards feature birds, dogs, cats, woodland animals and flowers. They’re perfect for sending a thoughtful message, whether you’re celebrating Christmas, a birthday or another special occasion.

Christmas Wrapping Paper and Gift Tags

I love creating wrapping paper that feels just as special as the gift inside.

My Christmas wrapping paper features playful animal illustrations, festive details and nature-inspired patterns, designed to make presents look beautiful under the tree.

If you enjoy coordinating your wrapping paper with greeting cards and gift tags, you’ll find plenty of inspiration in my collection. Adding to this year, I also have some one-off gift tags which aren’t on the website; they can only be purchased in person.

Since moving my business to South Oxfordshire, I’ve enjoyed becoming part of the local creative community.

Being surrounded by countryside, wildlife and beautiful villages provides endless inspiration for my illustrations and surface patterns.

From walks through the fields to spotting birds in the garden, so many of my designs begin with everyday moments outdoors.
