I have a real soft spot for this show, in 2009 the Cornwall Design Fair (back then still linked with Hidden Art) was the first show I ever did as a ‘business’ and not a new graduate. It’s where I learnt about the wonderful work of the Princes Trust which lead onto me meeting my business mentor and where I picked the brains of designer makers who had already been trading. My most memorable conversation was with Cornish designer maker Poppy Treffy, a fantastic lady full of advice for someone just starting out.
This was my 3rd year at the show and it was wonderful to meet customers old and new, I met a lovely family that had the Juneberry and Bird wallpaper in the youngest daughters bedroom and another family that had the Juneberry and Bird lampshade in their living room.
I was so happy with the response to the new plant pots and stationary products and came home sold out of the small plant pots.
