The pansy design is one of my favourites from the Garden collection, and it really feels like a coming together of my long-standing love of florals. It’s busy, full of flowers and detail, but with a modern twist that keeps it feeling fresh rather than traditional.
I’ve always been drawn to florals that feel joyful and full of life, and pansies — with their rich colours and distinctive shapes — felt like the perfect place to start.

Inspired by British Gardens
This design is inspired by the pansies found in British gardens — those subtle blue petals with highlights of yellow and pink that quietly brighten borders, pots and window boxes. I set the flowers against a deep navy background to give the design depth and drama, while still keeping it rooted in something familiar and comforting.
My Garden collection as a whole is inspired by the native flora and fauna found in our verdant domestic gardens. Over the years, my love of British gardens has taken me everywhere from the formal grounds of stately homes to my own Brockley roof terrace, and these spaces continually influence my colour choices, shapes and patterns.

Playing With Scale and Colour
One of the things I enjoyed most with the pansy design was playing with scale. The flowers are deliberately super-sized, which gives the pattern impact and makes it feel more contemporary. Alongside the blues, I added touches of pink and yellow to lift the design and stop it from feeling too heavy.
This balance — busy florals with a modern edge — is something I come back to again and again in my work.

Bringing the Collection Together in the Photoshoot
For the photoshoot, I wanted to bring together many of the florals from across my collection to show how they can happily live alongside one another. The bed scene is layered with multiple floral designs, creating a space that feels collected, expressive and lived-in rather than overly styled.
Alongside the final photograph, you’ll also see a photoshopped image. I love sharing this part of the process because it gives a glimpse into how ideas evolve — from initial concept to finished image.

Behind the Scenes With Yeshen (and Jenkins)
The shoot took place in Yeshen’s studio in Islington, London. We set up different “rooms” within his space, moving furniture and styling each area to suit the designs. It’s always a collaborative process, and I love how these shoots feel creative rather than rigid.
And, of course, Jenkins was very much the main man. He spent the day cuddling up to studio helpers and the photographer, often setting himself up perfectly for the shot — entirely unprompted, of course.
The Pansy Design Across the Collection
The pansy design features across a range of products, including lampshades, cushions and fabric. Seeing the design translated onto different pieces is always one of my favourite parts of the process — it’s where the drawings really come to life.
If you’re drawn to bold florals with a modern feel, this design is a lovely way to bring a touch of the garden indoors.
