An evening with Woodstock Furniture and Lorna Syson

I am delighted to be a member of one of London’s premier design networking groups, The Decor Cafe based in West London. The Decor Club is a collaborative community, providing ongoing inspiration and support for like-minded people to share their knowledge and experience to make more of their home or home business.

Launching my new Garden collection and the fabrics by the meter in John Lewis I was delighted to have the opportunity to share my new work with Decor Club members through one of their events. Luckily for me, Andrew Hall from Woodstock Furniture was hosting a fantastic event in his gorgeous East Sheen home and kindly let me take part in his event.

He invited The Decor Club members to join him at his beautiful home for a fun and informative evening to see and learn from the bespoke furniture designs he has created to suit him and his family. Andrew’s philosophy is “with the right thinking, open discussion and some real dedication, anything becomes possible.” and you can really see this in the redesign of his home, such beautiful attention to detail alongside ergonomically and practical family living.

Andrew and I both talked about our respective projects to the members that joined us for the evening, the informal conversation and Q&A’s gives a really relaxing way to learn about the designers. I loved the opportunity to talk to the group of interior designers about the new fabrics and the journey I’ve been through over the past couple of months, making sure that they are printed in the UK, on high quality stable cottons and linens. It was also fascinating to get their feedback, thankfully overwhelmingly positive, especially from those interior designer who have know me for years.

The floor cushions were also a huge hit, it the Buds and Butterflies finding a new home that evening and not heading back to the studio with me. These extra filled feather cushions are so luxurious and I was delighted they were so popular.

The Pansy chair was also very popular, the 1950’s cocktail chair really compliments the Pansy fabric. The chair was reupholstered by Galapagos Chairs using our Pansy fabric and it makes it a perfect chair for a dress room or bedroom.
