Lorna’s Borneo Honeymoon
It’s taken me a while to write this post and I’m loving the opportunity to go over my honeymoon photos again and share them with you. We had a wonderful time in Borneo for 10 days.
The honeymoon started with 3 days on a desert island called Lankayan where we did scuba diving and saw Green turtles, reef sharks and schools of gorgeous butterfly and parrot fish! (yes they are are gorgeous as their name sounds) The island is all about eco tourism and they have a conservation centre on site. We were lucky enough to see turtles coming up onto the beach to lay their eggs as well as seeing some baby ones hop down the beach into the ocean just after they hatched.
We then moved onto the Borneo Rainforest Lodge, right in the heart of the primary rain forest. It was even more magical than I imagined, with our own private tub over looking the river. When walking to our chalet there were monkeys sitting outside our door and when out trekking we were lucky enough to see a mother and baby orangutang. We heard rumours that David Attenborough was in the area filming for a new BBC documentary and found out that Will and Kate stayed there on their Borneo tour!
We finished our honeymoon at the Sangri-La Rasa Ria for some serious pampering and looking after. We couldnt have asked for anything more and I feel like one lucky lady!
