Meet Sophia our new studio intern!

What is your daily life in the Lorna Syson Studio as an intern?

I am in the studio from Monday to Thursday every week, being an intern, I turn my hand to anything that needs doing! I’ve been taught a lot on how this business is run and what goes on behind the scenes. Alex the studio assistant has been such a big help by teaching me the stock check process, also getting orders ready to be sent out and the admin. There’s always something to be doing in the studio every day and it’s so good being in an environment having lovely support with Lorna and her team!

What’s your favourite product?

My favourite product would definitely have to be the new Broom and Bee Sky design! I love the colours as they fit in perfectly with the up coming season.

What’s life like when not in the Lorna Syson Studio?

When I’m not in the studio I’m a student studying a BA in Fashion Illustration at London College of Fashion. I am majorly influenced through my two favourite fashion illustrators David Downton and Megan Hess, which I have been lucky enough to meet which makes them even that more special!

When you grew up what did you want to be?

When I was a little girl I always wanted to be a fashion designer, I had everything planned out in my scrap books filled with my collections, however I’ve now decided to teach art in schools at secondary level.

What’s your favourite interior trend at the moment?

I’ve always been very much into the modern minimalist style and monochrome colours which my how my bedroom is, it’s always been a style I go for.

What is your favourite blog?

I have a lot of blogs I go on nearly every day mainly being illustration blogs ofcourse! Birdyandme is my favourite.

What is the last thing you bought?

It was at Paperchase I brought a book with a bird theme fabric cover to be my journal for my university project, which is based on my internship that’s filled up daily. I chose it as I was obviously inspired by Lorna’s love for birds!
