Animal Christmas Cards: Luxury Paper & Handmade Designs for Animal Lovers
Looking for a Christmas card that’s a little bit different this year? Our collection of animal Christmas cards celebrates some of the world’s most loved animals, beautifully illustrated and printed on quality paper.
From a playful seal Christmas card to an adorable otter Christmas card, or a Christmas greeting featuring a hippo or elephant, these designs are perfect for animal lovers who enjoy sending something a little more unusual at Christmas.
At Lorna Syson, I love creating cards that feel personal, characterful and a little bit special — designs that you might want to keep long after Christmas has passed.
Christmas cards for animal lovers
Not everyone wants a traditional robin, Christmas tree or snowy village on their Christmas card.
If you know someone who loves animals, why not choose a Christmas card featuring their favourite?
Our animal Christmas card collection includes some wonderfully unexpected festive characters. These designs are perfect for friends and family who love wildlife, conservation, animals or simply appreciate beautiful illustration.
A Christmas card for seal lovers
Our seal Christmas card is a lovely choice for anyone who loves marine wildlife. Seals have such wonderfully expressive faces and playful personalities, making them a particularly charming subject for an illustrated Christmas card.
It’s a great alternative to a traditional festive design and a lovely way to send Christmas wishes to someone who has a soft spot for the seaside and its wildlife.
Otter Christmas cards for wildlife lovers
There’s something particularly irresistible about an otter, which makes our otter Christmas card a fun choice for wildlife lovers.
Otters are playful, charismatic and instantly recognisable, making this card perfect for anyone who would rather receive an animal-themed Christmas greeting than another traditional festive scene.
It would also make a lovely choice for someone interested in British wildlife and conservation.

A hippo Christmas card that’s guaranteed to make them smile
For something a little more unexpected, our hippo Christmas card is sure to raise a smile.
Hippopotamuses might not immediately spring to mind when you think of Christmas cards — and that’s exactly what makes them so much fun!
This is the kind of card I’d choose for someone who loves quirky design, unusual animals and anything a little bit different.
Elephant Christmas cards for a special Christmas message
Our elephant Christmas card is another beautiful option for animal lovers.
Elephants are such iconic and much-loved animals, and an illustrated elephant makes a wonderful alternative to more traditional Christmas imagery.
Whether you’re sending one to an animal-loving friend, a family member, or someone who simply loves beautiful stationery, an elephant Christmas card is a thoughtful way to make your Christmas message stand out.
Why choose an illustrated animal Christmas card?
Christmas cards don’t have to be predictable.
One of the things I love about designing stationery is being able to take inspiration from the natural world and turn it into something that people can share with one another.
An illustrated animal card can feel much more personal than a generic festive design. You can choose an animal because it reminds you of someone, reflects their personality or simply because you know they’ll love it.
And sometimes, you don’t need a reason at all — an adorable otter or cheeky hippo is reason enough!
Beautiful paper and thoughtful design
At Lorna Syson, I believe the materials used to create a card are just as important as the illustration.
Our Christmas cards are designed to feel special when they arrive through the letterbox. Beautifully printed artwork, quality paper and carefully considered designs make opening a Christmas card feel like a little treat.
They’re designed to be enjoyed throughout the festive season and, where possible, kept or repurposed afterwards.
More than just a Christmas card
A beautiful Christmas card can become part of someone’s Christmas decorations.
Display your favourite cards on the mantelpiece, prop them up on a shelf or create a festive card display. Once Christmas is over, particularly lovely designs can even be turned into gift tags or decorations.
That’s one of the reasons I love creating illustrated cards — they can have a life beyond the message written inside.
