My Willow Tit lampshade celebrates the small birds that inspired my love of British wildlife. Its neutral palette brings detail and character into your home, making it easy to introduce bird illustration into an existing room.

Designed by me, Lorna Syson, an independent designer based in South Oxfordshire, this patterned lampshade makes a lovely addition to a bedside table, living room lamp or ceiling pendant.

Inspired by childhood encounters with nature

As a child, I explored the lowland marshes around my home, where I spotted willow tits gathered among the willow thickets.

Those early encounters helped shape the way I look at nature. This design celebrates the pleasure of noticing small birds and translating their distinctive markings into an illustration you can enjoy every day.

Handmade in the UK

Each Willow Tit lampshade is made to order using 100% cotton fabric, digitally printed in Lancashire and handmade into a shade in Bolton.

Pattern placement varies depending on where the fabric is cut, so the arrangement of birds may differ slightly from the photographs.

Styling your neutral bird lampshade

Pair Willow Tit with natural wood, textured cushions and simple curtains for a relaxed interior. Its understated colours work beautifully with Scandinavian-inspired furniture and rooms that combine natural materials with clean shapes.

The small shade is a useful starting point for a bedside lamp or compact table. The larger sizes give the illustration more presence in a living room or bedroom. Check the shade’s proportions against your lamp base before choosing.

Lampshades are all made to order and can take up to 10 days to arrive with you, especially at business times of the year such as Christmas. If you’ve ordered a lampshade alongside other products please note that the lampshade will arrive separately

Frequently asked questions

Does the Willow Tit lampshade come in a 20cm size?
Yes. It is available in 20cm, 30cm and 40cm diameters. The small shade measures 20cm across and 14cm high.

Can I order it for a ceiling pendant or a lamp base?
Please specify your intended use when ordering. The 20cm shade comes with a lamp-base fitting as standard; a ceiling fitting should be requested.

Who designed the Willow Tit pattern?
Willow Tit is an original illustration by Lorna Syson, a British designer based in South Oxfordshire, inspired by childhood encounters with birds.

Will my lampshade look exactly like the photograph?
This lampshade has different printed fabric for each lampshade size; they should look similar in proportion to the photos, but these can vary slightly.

Returns
All of our items are made with great care and we hope you like them. However, if for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase please return it in the original packaging and unused within 30 days. Please contact us for a returns form.
