I’ve been selling my lampshades with Huttons Putney for a couple of years and was delighted when they took the collection into more of their London Stores. I did a Q&A with Morgana the Manager at Putney to find out a little bit more;
Please tell us a bit of background about Huttons?
Huttons is a family business established in 1996 with our flagship Putney branch. We have grown over the years and now serve the local communities in seven locations with shops in London, Surrey, Marlow, Windsor and St. Albans.
Please tell us where your shop is and what type of products you have?
Based in the Putney Exchange, we are an independent retailer that prides itself on stocking a delightful and unique array of gifts, fashion, accessories, homewares, furniture and more.
What are your favourite design blogs and magazines?
We heart and It’s nice that are great blogs. And of course Pinterest is such a good place to get inspiration and design ideas.
Where do you go to source your items for your shop?
We source a lot of our new products from trade shows such as Pure and Topdrawer. We are a bit supporter of local design and British manufacturers so there are a number of local designers and companies whose products we carry. Some of these simply walked into the shop one day with some samples that we liked so much we decided to sell them.
What does the future hold?
We are currently redeveloping our website to update and expand it. We will be launching at the end of 2014, so keep an eye out!
