Bespoke Wallpaper Design UK – Custom Jungle, British Wildlife and Botanical Wallpaper by Lorna Syson
Looking for wallpaper that’s a little different? Whether you love bold jungle designs, beautiful British wildlife or delicate botanical patterns, I can help you create something personal for your home.
I’ve been designing wallpaper and fabrics since launching Lorna Syson in 2009, taking inspiration from the natural world around me.
From British birds and wildflowers to woodland scenes and colourful floral patterns, nature has always been at the heart of my work.
While I have an established collection of nature-inspired wallpapers available to order, something you might not know is that I can also create bespoke wallpaper designs for individual projects. These are one-off pieces for special clients who can’t find what they want out there and like my style!
Whether you’re looking to adapt an existing design or commission something completely new, I love the opportunity to explore new ideas and create wallpaper that feels truly personal.
Bespoke Jungle Wallpaper – A One-Off Design Commission
One example of my bespoke wallpaper work is a jungle-inspired design, created as a special commission.
Unlike my regular collections, this wallpaper was developed as a one-off project, allowing me to explore a different style of botanical illustration.
The design brings together the shapes, textures and colours of tropical foliage, creating a bold, nature-inspired pattern.
One of the lovely things about this particular design is that it can be adapted for other projects.
If you love the jungle wallpaper but would prefer a different colour palette or would like to discuss changes to the design, please get in touch.
The jungle wallpaper can be amended by special request, making it a wonderful starting point for anyone looking for something a little more individual.
And if a jungle design isn’t quite what you’re looking for, we can explore an entirely different idea together.

Work With Me to Create Your Own Wallpaper Design
Commissioning bespoke wallpaper gives you the opportunity to create something specifically for your space.
Perhaps you have a particular flower you’d love to feature, a favourite bird, a meaningful landscape or a colour palette that you haven’t been able to find in existing wallpaper collections.
I can work with you to explore your ideas and develop a design that reflects your individual style.
My background in textile design and illustration means I approach wallpaper with an understanding of colour, composition, pattern repeats and how a design will work across a larger surface.

How Does a Bespoke Wallpaper Commission Work?
Every project is different, but the process generally begins with a conversation.
1. Share your ideas
Tell me about the space, the type of wallpaper you’re looking for and any inspiration you have. Photographs, colour references and mood boards can all be useful.
2. Discuss the design
We can explore whether an existing design could be adapted or whether creating something completely new would be more suitable.
3. Develop the artwork
Using my illustration and surface pattern design experience, I can develop the agreed ideas into a wallpaper design, considering the colours, scale and pattern repeat.
4. Prepare for production
Once the design is approved, the artwork can be prepared for wallpaper printing, with production arrangements agreed as part of the commission.
As bespoke projects vary in complexity, pricing and timescales are discussed individually.
British Wildlife Wallpaper – Bringing Nature Into Your Home
Of course, you don’t necessarily need to commission something new to find wallpaper that’s full of personality.
My existing wallpaper collections celebrate the birds, flowers and wildlife found across Britain.
I love taking inspiration from everyday encounters with nature, whether it’s a tiny bird moving through the branches, flowers growing along a country lane or the colours of a woodland in spring.
These observations become the starting point for my illustrations and patterns.
Bird Wallpaper Inspired by British Wildlife
British birds have always been a favourite subject of mine.
My wallpaper designs feature a variety of birds, including blue tits, wrens, bullfinches and other familiar garden visitors.
For example, my Spring Ivy Blue design was inspired by ivy cascading down a Georgian building on my walk to the studio, with beautiful blue tits nestled among the leaves and berries.
Other designs, including Wren & Cherry and Bullfinch, celebrate the shapes, colours and personalities of British birds.
I love the idea of bringing a little of that wildlife indoors, creating interiors that feel connected to the natural world.
Can Existing Lorna Syson Wallpaper Designs Be Personalised?
If you’ve fallen in love with one of my designs but have something slightly different in mind, it’s always worth getting in touch.
Depending on the design and the changes requested, there may be opportunities to explore alternative colours, scales or other adjustments as a bespoke project.
Not every alteration will be possible, and any changes would need to be discussed individually, but I’m always interested in hearing about creative ideas.
My jungle wallpaper is a particularly good example of a design that can be adapted by special request.
Why Choose a British Independent Wallpaper Designer?
When you work directly with an independent designer, you’re speaking to the person who creates the artwork.
I’ve been running Lorna Syson since 2009, and my experience spans surface pattern design, illustration, textiles, home accessories and bespoke creative commissions.
I have a First Class Honours degree in Textile Design from Loughborough University and have exhibited my work internationally, including at Maison&Objet in Paris.
Today, I work from my studio in South Oxfordshire, continuing to develop collections inspired by the natural world.
My wallpaper is printed in the UK, and working with British manufacturers has always been an important part of my business.
For bespoke projects, I can bring together my illustration experience, technical knowledge of repeating patterns and understanding of wallpaper production.
Wallpaper Samples – See the Colours and Details Before You Decide
If you’re considering one of my existing wallpaper designs, I always recommend ordering a sample first.
Colours can look different depending on the lighting in your home, the direction a room faces and the colours already used in the space.
A physical wallpaper sample allows you to see the printed colours, details and finish before committing to a larger order.
You can explore my existing wallpaper collection and available samples at www.lornasyson.co.uk.
For bespoke wallpaper enquiries, samples and any proofing requirements can be discussed as part of the project.
