At Lorna Syson we’re lusting over Pantone’s colour of the year so much already! This year it’s Living Coral, described by Pantone as ‘animating and life-affirming’ – and we couldn’t agree more!

The amazing thing about colours in nature is the energy they emit that causes a familiar positive response within the people that come into contact with it. Just looking at Living Coral ignites a playful and energising feeling inside, and automatically you feel at home. Coral in the ocean is home for many sea-creatures, which is what is so special about this colour. Because of this, Living Coral can be styled into your home seamlessly, giving any room a zest of life.

We have done the hard work for you and gathered together some images for room inspiration, using Living Coral here. Next to dark colours such as navy blue and emerald green, Living Coral adds a vibrant pop of colour that compliments amazingly if you’re more bold with your colour choices.

We teamed a coral velvet upholstered chair with our Buddleia wallpaper for a bold, rich colour contrast. The Long Tailed Tit or Pansy prints would be another bold choice, perhaps as a contrasting cushion on a coral sofa or bedding? This colour also works well with Arla Blue and Hydrangea for a fresh, springtime look if you don’t want to go dark in your home.

If you prefer to play it safe with colour trends, Bullfinch is perfect for bringing this trend into your home. We have shown it on a grey sofa for example. A small pop of coral on cushions, or a lampshade, is a great way of staying up to date with less commitment!
