Greenfinch bird lampshade by Lorna Syson

My Greenfinch lampshade celebrates the movement of garden birds against a springtime backdrop of apple blossom. The illustration brings the birds and branches together in a pattern that adds character to a bedside table, living room lamp or ceiling pendant.

Designed by me, Lorna Syson, an independent designer based in South Oxfordshire, this lampshade reflects my love of finding inspiration in the wildlife around us.

A celebration of birds in town and countryside

Greenfinches visit gardens in both urban and rural settings, making them a lovely reminder of the nature we can encounter close to home.

In this design, I’ve captured the birds in flight among apple blossom. The branching shapes and movement of the birds create detail that rewards a closer look, bringing a little of the garden into your everyday surroundings.

Handmade in the UK

Each Greenfinch lampshade is handmade to order in the UK using fabric featuring my original illustration.

Pattern placement varies depending on where the fabric is cut, so the arrangement of birds and blossom may differ slightly from the photographs.

Styling your Greenfinch lampshade

Pair Greenfinch with natural wood, textured fabrics and leafy houseplants for a room inspired by the outdoors. Repeat the green tones through cushions or accessories to connect the lampshade with your furnishings.

For a simpler scheme, let the bird illustration become the focal point alongside plain curtains and upholstery. It’s a lovely way to introduce botanical pattern into a bedroom or reading corner.

Lampshades are all made to order and can take up to 10 days to arrive with you, especially at business times of the year such as Christmas. If you’ve ordered a lampshade alongside other products please note that the lampshade will arrive separately

We will process your order within 1 to 3 days but we aim to process the same day, Monday to Friday excluding UK holidays. Lampshades are made to order and take 3 to 7 days.

Returns
All of our items are made with great care and we hope you like them. However, if for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase please return it in the original packaging and unused within 30 days. Please contact us for a returns form.
