My Spring Ivy Slate lampshade combines blue tits, trailing ivy and berries against a dark grey background. The slate colour gives the design depth, allowing the birds and foliage to become a feature in your room.

Designed by me, Lorna Syson, an independent designer based in South Oxfordshire, this bird lampshade brings a little everyday nature to a bedside table, living room lamp or ceiling pendant.

Inspired by ivy on my walk to the studio

The inspiration for Spring Ivy began on my daily walk from my home in Brockley to my studio in Deptford, South East London. I often passed a Georgian house with ivy cascading down its walls and spilling towards the pavement.

Those abundant leaves caught my eye. I combined them with blue tits, familiar garden visitors, to create a pattern that celebrates the wildlife and greenery we can find even in busy urban places.

Lampshades are all made to order and can take up to 10 days to arrive with you, especially at business times of the year such as Christmas. If you’ve ordered a lampshade alongside other products please note that the lampshade will arrive separately

What inspired the Spring Ivy design?
The design began with ivy growing over a Georgian house I passed on my walk to my London studio. I combined the foliage with blue tits to celebrate nature in everyday surroundings.

Will my lampshade look exactly like the photograph?
The same printed pattern is used, but the position of the birds and foliage varies between shades.

All of our items are made with great care and we hope you like them. However, if for any reason you are unhappy with your purchase please return it in the original packaging and unused within 30 days. Please contact us for a returns form.
